In my 30 years of away games, easily up there with the worst, though it was pretty much a guaranteed loss when the team was announced.

All well and good saying we've lost to shit teams in the past, but in the past I expect the players at least put an effort in.

Absolute disgrace today, but not worth moaning as the two Dave's aren't going anywhere and so nothing will change.

Just feel sorry for people who go to home games and will be stuck with that ginger jock cunt past this season.

Swindon
I'm probably one of the oldest on this thread I can go back to the early 1960s if you think this is a shock just look back to the last fifty years and laugh at the teams that have knocked us out.
Trips to Mansfield and Blackpool and quite a few others were common place.
The biggest crime though was the season after 1966 when if the then owners would have realised that we should have had the best team in the first division if they had bought a couple of decent defenders.
So basically nothing has changed regarding our club and believe me it ain't worth getting too excited or upset about.

That was one of the worst awaydays I’ve had. Terrible from start to finish. It looked like we might turn it round at the start of the second half until he got sent off, what a prick and that just about summed them up today, the body language was awful, at different points I saw at least 3 of are players stand there with there arms up shrugging there shoulders, I mean what do you think the Wigan players think when they see that? I know what I thought.

Takeaways from today

1. We have little strength in depth, despite injuries, and it simply must be addressed if we’re to even tread water. Take away our first 11 and it’s alarming.
2. Our youth players aren’t that special based on the cup games. They’ve struggled against opposition two leagues below. A far cry from the talent that was coming through 20 years ago. Not writing them off but there’s been no other breakthrough players so far from the much Talked about youth. This was their time to shine. I now know why oxford struggled to get games in Germany.
3. Despite being 11th I think we are in for a shaky end to the season. I dont think we’ll go down but it could end up being touch and go.
4. Mario looks like a quality player at first sight. Here’s hoping !

This really needs to be a massive wake up call. If we survive this season there needs to be a clearing out of those players that don’t fit in, want out and are not good enough and replaced properly.

Funnily enough I was on a tour of the London Stadium with Tony Cottee last Sunday and he said that Moyes really wanted to win the FA cup. Obviously not this year ! Moreover he felt that that it may be this year and was worried as he has booked to go on holiday when it was the FA cup final. No worries now Tony!

Disappointing but hardly surprising. Even the bookies had Wigan as favourites apparently. I doubt we would have got much further anyway this year. Injuries have left the squad painfully thin and despite a number of people calling for the youngsters they've shown they are inconsistent and not the answer either

We probably need a proper clear out in the summer - of the first teamers who don't want to be here and the players who aren't going to make it or challenge for starts.

Could you imagine the abuse Lyall & the Board would be getting If the internet was around during 1987-89?

No he was getting it on the terraces.... and in the boozers... not our finest moment as fans

Trouble is, when is it EVER a shock, us losing to lower opposition? It's happened my entire life.
At least it wasn't Wrexham and having to work with two Welsh twats this time...

Sold,

good for you and we all have our memories good and bad and there is no doubt that the games you mentioned plus many more were great occasions but I could remember many games that were not so good and the atmosphere at UP over the past 10 years definitely lost some magic.

Regardless of the atmosphere my main point was that West Ham have been shit for the majority of the past 30 years and for most of those bad times when we were experiencing regular defeats and relegations no one was coming out of the matches and saying "Well at least we played good football" because they weren't. It was always Lyall Out or Brown Out or Sack the Board.

The only difference now is that people have social media to magnify their opinions even further.

Could you imagine the abuse Lyall & the Board would be getting If the internet was around during 1987-89?

In terms of performances and results nothing has really changed in the past 30 years.

Basically showing our weakness in depth precious few options.
The kids are mostly mediocre - you don't warm the bench at Bolton for half a season if you are genuine premiership class.
Need to bring a few more players before the window shuts or it could yet end in tears

Swindon.... Ok I not had a season ticket for last 5 years so I can only vouch for 25 out of those 30 but I'm sorry I fucking loved it... never bothered me the seating arrangements as I never sat down as no one did where we was... was there some shit games and atmospheres yeah of course there was... but for every Swansea 1-4... there was the Ipswich play off game... 2 of the loudest games I can ever remember was against the Goons (harewood 1-0 and Hartson equalising in the fa cup)... it was so loud that I thought my fillings would fall out... now if the LS is like that now fair enough but I fucking loved my time at the Boleyn all seater or not

longford, you're talking to the wrong person by acting the cunt and coming out with shit like neymar and ronaldo. ive said numerous times that I'd welcome a European super league so all the big spenders could fuck off for good, and you clearly didn't rrad my last post as I said it had very little to do with money as Paul Cook set up a team that took the piss out of us. you do realise why Moyes was taken on, and on such a short deal don't you?
